POLICIES
24 hours prior, DO NOT consume alcohol or bloods thinners such as; Advil, Ibuprofen, Aspirin or Niacin unless medically necessary.
It is recommended to wax your eyebrows at least 3-5 days prior.
The following treatments are not recommended 30 days before the treatment:
botox and fillers
fruit or lactic acids
laser treatments
chemical peel
exposure to strong sunlight
Treatment will not be preformed on skin that is sun brunt. Rescheduling will be required and your deposit will be forfeited. As your skin exfoliates from a sunburn, it will take the pigment with it.
The pigment used can last between 1-3 years. The pigment will begin to fade within 12 months. In order to keep your brows looking fresh, a touch up is recommended every 12 months to 24 months maximum. The normal lifespan for Microblading can be 6 – 8 months before needing another touch up.
For clients that choose a softer look and lighter color shade initially or those who did not follow the after care instructions properly may require more frequent touch ups.
Factors that will cause your microbladed brow tattoo fade faster:
• Iron deficiency
• Sun exposure
• Exfoliants
• Exposure to salt water
• Smoking
The initial procedure takes approximately three hours. During this time, we shape and style the brows for clients approval, then the procedure will begin. The first half of the appointment is the consultative component of the procedure and the second half is the tattooing itself.
The client is to come in for a touch up visit in order to have any minor necessary touch ups. The second session takes place after 6-8 weeks after the initial session and will take approximately one to one and a half hours to complete.
A topical anesthetic is used to numb the brow area prior to the procedure, however, pain tolerance varies from client to client. You can expect some minor level of discomfort during the procedure. Sensitivity levels will vary from person to person, however every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable for the duration of the treatment. Please note that if you're getting the procedure done while on your menstrual cycle, it can increase pain.
Topical anesthetics are safe and may contain lidocaine, tetracaine, epinephrine, prilocaine or benzocaine.
If you have old, existing tattoo, Soft Ombre Shading is the perfect technique to choose. HOWEVER, it will depend on how dark they are. The tattoo must be very faded in order to work over or correct. The color typically lasts 1-3 years (depending on skin type). Placing our pigment over fairly new/dark tattooed brows is not ideal. Our pigment fades slowly over time, will which then reveal old tattoo because traditional ink lasts years.
Therefore, if you have previously tattooed brows, you must first email a picture to softinkstudiomaui@gmail.com before booking your appointment. If you have booked an appointment and your brows cannot be corrected by me, your $50 deposit will be refunded.
It should also be noted that color corrections will be an addition $100 for previously tattooed brows being that an extra step of color corrections must be performed.
The outer layer of your skin is called the epidermis, and in order for a tattoo to be permanent, the ink has to travel through to the dermis, the layer just underneath. The cells on the epidermis are the ones that we shed, so the dye trickles down just deep enough to evade our skin’s natural shedding process.
Cosmetic Tattoo performed by Soft Ink Studio, the microblade and needle, just grazes the epidermis. Permanent Cosmetic Tattoo is known for the “sharpie look” and over time will fade to red/ blue/ green/ purple hues. With our techniques, the ink will gradually fade over time to a lighter version of the original color to completely nothing. The healed result of Ombre Shading is a natural, yet defined look.

After your first session, you will be given an aftercare regiment to follow. Please note that following your aftercare to the “t" will give you the best results possible. Within 7-14 Days you will have light scabbing and flaking. For 2 weeks and or when your scabs fall off naturally, you will be asked to not wear makeup directly on your brows, stay out of direct sunlight, no excessive sweating, swimming. You will be given instructions on how to shower and wash your face.
We allow at the earliest 4 weeks for your skin to completely heal then you will come back for your touch up session where we can go darker and bolder if needed and to correct any areas that need addressing. After your touch up you will start the aftercare process over again.
